The suspension of the products' import into Fiji began acrimoniously , causing some diplomatic fall-out between the countries.

However on Friday, Fijian Trade Minister Faiyaz Siddiq Koya said that "the pathway for Ox and Palm corned beef, Trukai rice and Lae Biscuit is open for commercial consignments."

The announcement came after discussions with Biosecurity Authority of Fiji.

Koya added that Fiji looked "forward to working with PNG Trade Minister Richard Maru to deepen and strengthen trade ties between both countries".
