Marubeni gives Oil Search $20,000 for relief

MARUBENI Corporation, a Japanese trading company which owns indirect interests in the PNG LNG and other oil and gas fields in the Highlands, has donated $US20,000 to Oil Search Foundation to assist in the provision of aid and relief for earthquake affected communities.

The company has expressed its deepest sympathy to the victims in the disaster areas and hopes for speedy progress in recovery and reconstruction operations.
 
The Oil Search Foundation thanked Marubeni for its donation and said it would ensure all funds received were used to support direct aid and recovery operations.
 
"Together with partners we have been able to reach over 100,000 people in impacted areas with food, water and shelter in isolated areas of highlands of PNG," an Oil Search Foundation official said.
