The company has run the processing plant and ball mill with both stockpiled and fresh ore over the past two weeks for up to seven hours a day, attaining a maximum 2tph throughput.

The new feeder will be air freighted to site next week and installed with the hopper modification work underway and due for completion before the arrival of the feeder.

"The upgrade to the mill and processing plant is continuing in a measured fashion as we move towards increased processing and mining capacity," Niuminco managing director Tracey Lake said.

Mining and screening of feed material is continuing with material being sourced from the Alpha West - or main Edie lode vein - area in recent weeks.

As is typical of the Edie Creek vein systems the main Edie Lode contains finer and lower grade gold in the upper sections with gold grade and coarseness increasing with depth down to the bottom of the oxidised zone.
