A LEADING researcher in the field of petroleum engineering has joined Western Australia's Edith Cowan University as a professorial research fellow.

Uni boosts petro-engineering faculty Stefan Iglauer

Professor Stefan Iglauer, who has authored more than 180 technical publications, has joined ECU's School of Engineering to establish a petroleum engineering discipline.
 
He received his PhD in Material Science from Oxford Brookes University, UK, in 2002.
 
His main areas of research are carbon dioxide geo-sequestration and improved hydrocarbon recovery.
 
In 2015, Perth-based ECU said it was seeking to recruit more than 20 new professors from around the world to rapidly increase research activity and impact. Prof Iglauer is the 17th appointment as part of this initiative.
