Lua'iufi, who lives in Samoa, has extensive board experience and is a member of the Council of the National University of Samoa and has worked on many public sector councils and policy committees in Samoa, BSP said.
 
She has also undertaken consulting work over many years in Samoa, Solomon Islands, Fiji, Niue, Tonga, Tuvalu and Papua New Guinea.
 
BSP chairman Kostas Constantinou said that her appointment and board experience reflected BSP's market position as the leading bank in the South Pacific, and added that he was confident she would contribute positively to the board performance especially in her areas of expertise in governance and human resources.
 
Lua'iufi is a strategic planning adviser for Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, based in Samoa.
