Upgrade likely for Woodlark gold

GEOPACIFIC Resources says there is potential to upgrade the resource inventory at the Woodlark Island gold project it is earning into from Kula Gold, after recovering high-grade gold in near-surface assays.

Targeting extensions to known mineralisation at the project in Milne Bay Province, the company's drilling on the Kulumadau deposit returned 3m at 2.02 grams per tonne gold from 44m and 23m at 4.82gpt gold from 102m, including 9m at 9.05gpt gold. 
 
Drilling of the project continues at the Kulumadau and Busai deposits as Geopacific works towards its aim of increasing reserves to 1.2 million ounces.
